HOW TO INSTALL????????

Installation instructions are included in the Administrator's Guide, which is included in the zip.

Where should the installation instructions be? And why don´t name it "install" or "how to". A simple txtfile would be more clear.

I am sorry, but this software sucks. I've been spending 15-20 minutes now and it's still not working. There was not Admin Guide included in the ZIP and the code is poorly commented. Unfortunately it's definitely get a thumbs-down.

Included in the zip is a file, DiggerSolutionsIntranetAdministratorsGuide.pdf, which includes installation instructions. If you unzip the site first, you will find the file in the /respository/library/ folder.

It seems that everyone has a negative comment. I should think that if you don't like it go somewhere else and post your whiny comments. Or just don't leave a comment at all. Or just leave. Having said that, this is open source software. And, if those of you complaining about not having an installation guide had spend a few minutes looking into the zip file, you'd have found it. Then again, you seem like the type of people who love to install anything on your production machines regardless of what effect it might have on your systems. I love the sample site. I moved all the filles over as instructed. I must have configured something wrong because all I am seeing is text. I hope someone on here can assist.

Is there anything special I need to do to get this running on a linux server? Are there any additional requirements or prerequisites needed?

IOS was built on ASP, it will not run on Linux. There used to be a product called ChiliSoft ASP, or something like that, that would allow you to run ASP on Linux. I have had people tell me in the past that they were able to do so.

its ASP. u're supposed to host it via a web server. duhhh.. btw this system rocks. i'm gonna make a few ammendments and add up some stuff. cheers ~

Not a bad piece of work. Very easy to install, I just had to enable Parent Paths and put some write permission on the DB. Voila! The Intranet is a complete Project system, with the ability to "clock on", create timecards, view project reports , add tasks, PHEW! Unfortunately, for me, it does Waaaaay too much, but thats a good thing! My company requires simplicity in design, but I AM going to "borrow" a few ideas Eg. My Boss' would "cream themselves" if I can provide such a good reporting system as you have. Keep up the good work!!!

What web host are any of you using to host your intranet solution?

I have been configuring the color scheme and so far it looks ok. Is there a way to hard code the color changes and make any changes to the "look and feel"?

Oscar, other than the color scheme that is built in the only other way to make changes is by editing the HTML. Sorry, that site was put together well before CSS became as prevalent as it is today.

I have run the sql server scripts .... how do I find the configuration file and modify it to use the sql server database I just created. Thank you.

Bentos101, the place to set the site root is in the SiteConfig.asp file.

Michael, the configuration file is the SiteConfig.asp file and can be found in the /includes/ folder.

Can you clarify this more? I know I download the english version. 1. Open up the page /includes/connection_open.asp. On that page you will find a function called MediumDate(). Inside that function you will see the a portion where Month names are set for a variable named aMonth. Change those month abbreviations to use the 3 letter month name abbreviations for your language.

I got the following error :Active Server Pages error 'ASP 0131' Disallowed Parent Path. Have enaple parent path to iis but the errors still show up. Help?

Michael, once you have parent paths enabled in IIS that error message should go away. To import from access you should be able to open SQL 2000 Enterprise Manager or SQL Server 2005 Management Studio, select the datbase you created with the script, right-click and choose All Tasks and import. Then just select the access database as the data source and the database you created as the database to import into. You will have to check to make sure the tables and fields are mapped properly, but that is about all there is to it. Thanks.

you are probably not using a MS host,but rather a linux host

Great piece of work. I just had one problem, I hope someone can help. When I click on any of the menu items that open in a popup (Calendar for instance), I get a 404 error.

im having trouble logging into it, i have set everything up fine - but type in test/pass and nothing happens. do i need to create a dsn?

I downloaded this but WinZip and Windows Compressed folders both say it is a corrupt archive.

Having problems, when I download the file, there is one file in the download, and no extensions for the one file.

ZIP won't unzip..... (like others have noted earlier)

Works fine for me. Let me know if anyone else runs into any issues with it.
